Wealth Magazine Interview: Large-Scale Remote Learning Goes Live Worldwide! Cooc-Cloud Course Volume Quadruples; CEO: “Chased by Clients Every Day”
The pandemic accelerated the adoption of remote learning; only when millions of teachers and students moved online at once was the resilience of a platform—and the essential value of educational technology—truly put to the test.

For the global EdTech industry, the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic was the most real and most unforgiving stress test imaginable. Taiwan's Cooc-Cloud saw the number of courses launched surge fourfold in an extremely short period. Behind that figure was the collective resilience of Taiwan's entire education system in the midst of crisis—and one of the most convincing real-world tests of the question: what kind of EdTech platform is truly reliable?
In Wealth Magazine's in-depth report, the CEO's description of being "chased by clients every day" captured the real situation facing EdTech service providers during that period: coping with a sudden, extreme surge in system load; helping teachers who had never used remote-learning tools get up to speed quickly; and maintaining service quality without buckling under the rapid expansion in scale.
This stress test left three clear lessons that still hold profound implications for the entire EdTech industry today:
First, scalability is a core competitive advantage for an EdTech platform, not a bonus feature. A platform that performs superbly under normal traffic but collapses at ten times the load is worthless at the moment it matters most.
Second, ease of use always matters more than a wealth of features. In a crisis, what teachers need is a tool they can master within an hour—not the most powerful system that requires training before it can be used.
Third, customer success is not an add-on to the service but part of the product's core competitiveness. In a crisis, the ability to rapidly mobilize people to support clients is itself a source of differentiated competitive advantage.
